King's Chapel & Burying Ground
Boston's first Anglican church and its oldest burial ground.

Why it matters
A royal church in a Puritan town — a symbol of the Crown's presence in colonial Boston.
Visiting King's Chapel & Burying Ground
The granite chapel dates to 1754; the adjoining burying ground, from 1630, holds John Winthrop, the colony's first governor.
The chapel's bell was recast by Paul Revere and still rings today.
